Things I Want But Don't Really Need

1. An iPod, a 30-gig black video iPod to be exact. I have a first gen Dell DJ, but it’s more than a bit outdated and incompatible with the 2nd item on my list.

2. A subscription to a music subscription service like Rhapsody or Yahoo Music. I love finding new music. Anyone out there use services like these and have recommendations?

3. A $25/yr pro account at flickr.com. I already have free, unlimited hosting at Yahoo, but their interface, upload speed, and added features don’t do anything for me aside from annoy me. Even though Yahoo bought Flickr, I’ve seen nothing personally rewarding come of it.

4. My own string of Condo Hotels. Really. Ok, not really. I wouldn’t want the responsibility.

Nothing says Christmas like "gimmee gimmee gimmee."

Keyboard Drummer Maestro

This one’s somewhat an internet classic, as it rightfully should be. Never judge a book by its cover, or, in this case, its long-sleeved, button-down dress shirt. The video also comes with a handy lesson in basic drumming. Just make sure you watch it to the end.

THIS IS ROCK AND ROLL!

YouTubeShuffle

It’s just what you wanted for Christmas…

YouTubeShuffle.com asks for a search term, then creates a randomized playlist from the search term for your viewing enjoyment. I know of no better way to kill hours. You can download the movies as well (in flv format, of course).

And if you haven’t seen this video yet, you should…

Instrumental O Holy Night from Studio 60: Free MP3 from NBC

I’m a fan of Studio 60 at the moment, and also glad that they decided to give the show a full season. The last episode, a Christmas episode, featured a slew of New Orleans instrumentalists that performed a wonderful rendition of O Holy Night. I remember thinking at the time how great it would be to have a recording of that song. I was more than surprised when I learned that it was available and free. Even more shockingly, NBC released it themselves through their own website.

Download it, enjoy, and get into the Christmas spirit.

Ben Stein’s Thoughts on Christmas

Ben, being Jewish, has some interesting thoughts on Christmas…

They’re interesting because they’re not what you might think they are, you stereotypical stereotyper…
